What is a suitable number of staff that should be on duty during each
shift to ensure the safety of my loved one?
The suitable number will be determined by the size of the facility, the  number of residents and the resident's care plan (needs). It will also  depend on that particular number of staff's ability to get the residents  to safety in an emergency situation.
What are the common types of residents that are in an assisted living
facility?
We may care for any resident who does not enter our doors in a  bedridden condition. If you may get them out of bed; one- or two-person  transfer, even a Hoyer lift and you may evacuate in an emergency  situation safely, we may serve that resident. Most facilities without an  RN should be cautious taking residents with tubes, insulin, and other  serious conditions.
What is the cost and are there other fees involved in placing my loved
one in an assisted living facility?
The cost is determined in several different ways. Most facilities will charge a community fee, a deposit, a monthly rate, as well as level of care rates. They may charge for adult underwear, bedding, toiletries and towels. This includes larger facilities and a few smaller ones. In a smaller facility the rate should be determined according to your budget, especially since they are private pay. In larger facilities it is usually determined by cooperate rates and medicaid.
