Earl D. Young, Sr. was reared in Colfax, Louisiana and is the baby of thirteen (13) children. At an early age he had an inclination for radio. In High School he began dabbling in the arena of broadcasting by making cassette tapes as he played the role of DJ.
In his twenties he got his first job as a radio announcer on a Rhythm & Blues station where he served as the overnight gospel announcer.
He later became an afternoon/evening announcer on the first Gospel Radio Station in Alexandria, LA, KLBG (Louisiana Black Gospel), where he served as the drive time announcer and later became the manager at that station.
Earl, has an earned Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctorate degree in Theology and has taught as an Adjunct Professor at various Colleges and Theological Seminaries in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.
He is currently the pastor and founder of Grace Celebration Fellowship in Dallas, TX which can be seen each Sunday morning at 8:30am on “Your Now Network”.
You can listen to Earl on KGGR Mondays through Fridays from 4pm to 6pm for the “Afternoon Praise Drive” intimately known to the listeners as “Rush Hour”, and 6pm to signoff for “Driving Into The Sunset.”
Earl has one son, Earl Jr., who serves as the associate pastor with his father at GCF (Grace Celebration Fellowship).
